Things To-Do in The Valley

Looking for things to do in the valley? From hikes to bites, there are plenty of ways to experience Teton Valley.

We think the valley has so much magic to offer and look forward to hearing about your adventures. Need more recommendations, stop by the front desks and talk to our knowledgeable and helpful staff members.

Kid-Friendly Hikes in The Valley (easy to moderate & >2 hours)

  • Packsaddle Lake (1 hr. from TVR): With a drivable road and great views of the Tetons, this trail provides a family-friendly hike. Roughly a mile to the lake from parking. Dog friendly and doable for all levels! Sunscreen, water, and bear spray is encouraged.
  • Moose Creek Trail (15 min. from TVR): Dog-friendly and creekside, this trail is relatively flat and provides a nice mix of sun and shade. You can make this hike as long or as short as you want and parking is located right at the trailhead. Sunscreen, water, and bear spray is encouraged.

Longer Hikes in The Valley (moderate to hard & <2 hours)

  • Pole Canyon Trail (10 min. from TVR): Just under 6 miles, this out-and-back provides spectacular views and wildflowers. Taking the average hiker roughly 3.5 hours, we encourage guests to bring water and snacks as needed (and bear spray!). Dogs are welcome but should be on leash.
  • Drake Creek (6 min. from TVR): Barely over 2 hours, this 3-mile out-and-back provides solitude and stunning views. With parts of this hike being a bit sunny, sunscreen is encouraged as well as water. Rumor is, if you keep hiking about ten minutes past the "end" of the trail, there is a beautiful view of the Tetons! Don't forget your bear spray!
  • Southern Valley Trail System and Trailhead - Happy Hour, Hillbender, Gumpys, Nemo, Ladyslipper (10 min. from TVR): With so many trails, you can make your perfect day out adventuring. As always, snacks, sunscreen, water, and bear spray are highly encouraged.
