One of the most beautiful drives you can find in Idaho is the road between Teton Valley Resort and the town of Swan Valley, ​​​​​​​​​In Swan Valley, you will find one of the finest trout fishing rivers in the United States, the South Fork of the Snake River. It's home to native Yellowstone cutthroat, rainbow and brown trout. You will share the river with a whole host of wildlife as you float through some of Idaho's most beautiful countryside.

Not much else grabs your attention on Highway 33 aside from the stunning snow-peaked Teton Mountains until you pass the old Drive-in...Up ahead, you see an old red truck parked beside the road, and on its flatbed is a giant potato -- a classic roadside postcard image made real. ​​​​​​​​​How did that get here? What's the story? And have you taken your picture by the famous #spud yet? Rumor is that more selfies get taken with the spud than the stunning mountain range behind it. Maybe? Stop by the front office, and we'll point you in the right direction for your own picture of what Idaho is famous for. The Spud, the Tetons and worlds best potatoes 🥔 !

"Rain rain, go away, ​​​​​​​​​come again some other day, we want to go outside and play." . . What rainy day fum are you up to today? Stop by the office and borrow a book or some fun film games. Sun will be out again before you know it!

The lilacs are blooming. The whole resort is at its blooming best this time of year and we just can't get enough of it. 💜

It's Huckleberry season!!​​​​​​​​​if you are not the foraging type, we have another option. Get yourself a delicious huckleberry shake at the @VictorEmporium ! The emporium has delicious shakes and ice cream and more, but the huckleberry is our favorite!

I primarily picked Teton Valley Resort because it was going to save me hundreds of dollars vs. staying in Jackson. I wasn't expecting the cabin to be as comfortable and homey as it was! They texted me the door code before arrival, which saved me the time and hassle of checking in. I was able to park right in front of my cabin and easily make myself at home. My cabin was SPOTLESS. It smelled fresh and the full size refrigerator and microwave looked like they had never been used. The bathrooms, while not connected to the cabin, were just a short walk away and always clean and tidy. I didn't try the restaurant on-site because there were also many options in town. Have you ever seen people get "just a little bit" closer to a wild animal, only to realize that, perhaps, they shouldn't have done it after all. ​​​​​​​​ So, the question is:​​​​​​​​ How close is too close?​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ Our friends at the @nationalparkservice had this to say:​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ "As a rule of thumb, it's always good to stay at least 25 feet away from wildlife.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ A good method to use to ensure that you keep your distance is to stick out your thumb. If your thumb covers the animal from a distance, you're a safe distance away. If your thumb does not cover the animal, you are too close!​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ This method is tried and true, but it's also important to be aware of your surroundings and ready for any wildlife that may pop up at a moment's ."​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ Be smart and safe out there.

While there is no running water inside of the cabin, all dry cabins are located in close proximity to bathrooms. The bathrooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained by staff.
