The National Elk Refuge

Hunting & Fishing
Hunting season opens from October through January for the various available critters you can take down. Generally, fishing is open year round in the area, but the best times to hit the river bank is in winter, and as early as October. For hunting antelope, the season opens from October 1st to November 20th, deer season is November 1st through the 30th, and elk season is from October 15th to the 30th. There are also hunting season for bison, bighorn sheep, and game birds!
